The Presence Team from the School of Nursing, North-West University, recently presented the “Enhancing Healthcare through the DREAM Guideline” workshop to the dedicated staff of Sanpark Rehabilitation Centre in Klerksdorp.
Sanpark’s vision- to restore dignity -deeply resonated throughout the workshop. The centre’s commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals facing addiction and related challenges beautifully aligned with the essence of presence: being fully engaged, responsive, and empathetic in every interaction.
What made this session remarkable was the personal transformation participants described.

Many shared how the workshop went beyond professional development - it touched something deeper. They spoke of renewed purpose, greater self-awareness, and a shift in mindset toward more mindful and compassionate care. One participant reflected, “It reminded me why I chose this profession - to truly be present with those who need us most.”
The feedback was unanimous: the workshop exceeded expectations. Attendees valued its practical relevance to their work in addiction recovery and social support, and its lasting impact on personal growth.

Through the workshop, Sanpark staff were introduced to the philosophy and practice of presence, inspiring reflection on how it might enhance professional relationships and nurture the spirit of dignity, empathy, and hope, to further guide their already excellent work.
The DREAM lives on - through every moment of genuine presence.
